James Hoyt Nance was born on August 31, 1929 and went to meet our Lord at Lower Cape Fear Hospice House on April 5th, 2018. He was preceded in death by wife of 64 yrs Ella Mae Enzor Nance. Son of the late Eva Griffin Nance Kellihan and the late Charles Hoyt Nance. Survived by Daughter, Yvonne Nance Sarvis of Whiteville, Grandson Daniel Nance Sarvis (Ashley) of Wilmington and Granddaughter Deena Sarvis Smeigh (Ian) of Cerro Gordo. Three Great grandchildren Jameson Nance Sarvis and Sadie Faye Sarvis of Wilmington and Ellia Ruth Smeigh of Cerro Gordo. Brother Haynes Kellihan of Cerro Gordo, Sisters Grey Kellihan Graham of Asheboro and Peggy L. Kellihan of Cerro Gordo. Surviving in-laws: Earl and Beth Enzor of Kinston, Vernon and Ida Lee Duke of Mancos, Colorado, Lillian Enzor of Chicago, Illinois, Juanita Enzor of Fair Bluff, and 12 nieces and nephews. Extended family Shelby Turbeville and family, Sylvia Pait (Danny) and family. Preceded in death by inlaws: Dr. C A Graham Jr. , James W. Enzor, Dr. Floyd I Enzor, George and Ruth Enzor, Ada and Washington Miles. Occupations included farming, textile work, Farmers Oil and Gas employee and Custodian of Cerro Gordo Primary and Elementary School. James was the last surviving male class member of Cerro Gordo High School class of 1948. Long time member of Cerro Gordo Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to Cerro Gordo Baptist Church or Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Special thanks to Dr. Henry Traylors staff and nurses, Lower Cape Fear Hospice staff and nurses, especially Dawn, Erica, and Raquel, and all inpatient department staff, especially Sylvia and Kathy. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 am and Funeral service at 11:00 on Saturday, April 7th, at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn, NC.
