Horace Rogers Obituary

Horace Van Rogers, age 71 of Whiteville, slipped into eternity late Friday (March 29, 2019) evening at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Born in 1947, he was the son of the late Horace Hilton Rogers and Irene McCumbee Rogers. He was employed by International Paper for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. Survivors include his children, Cathy B. Kennedy (Linwood) of Holden Beach; Rhonda R. Creech (Robert) of Whiteville, Horace Van Rogers, II (Amanda) of Whiteville; siblings, Wayne Brooks of New Bern, Susan Rogers of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Final rites will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday (April 2, 2019) at Worthington Funeral Home, with Reverend Bobby Cartrette officiating. Interment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
