Hilda Grey Evans Pierce

Mrs. Hilda Grey Evans Pierce, age 78 of Nakina, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Columbus Regional Healthcare system in Whiteville, NC. Born in Columbus County on the twentieth day of August in 1940, She was the daughter of the late James Kirby Evans and Bertha Reba Simmons Evans. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Pine Level Original Freewill Baptist Church in Nakina, with Rev. Hollon Norris & Rev. Jackie Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 on Friday evening at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Mrs. Pierce leaves behind her husband, Jimmy Dale Pierce of the home; four children, Geri Turner of Evergreen, Terri Lynn Hayes of Whiteville, James L. Hewett of Hallsboro, Gregg W. Hewett of the home; a brother, James Marvin Evans of Nakina; six Grandchildren, Mark C. Gore, Aaron P. Hayes, Hillary G. Batten, Nicole Formyduval, Justin D. Williamson, Alora Leanna Hewett; and two Great-Grandchildren, Kaiya Batten & Joshua S. Formyduval. A service of Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
