Helen Louise Clewis Hobbs Turbeville, age 84 of Chadbourn went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville.
Final rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Dudley and Pastor Buddy Seay officiating. Interment will follow in the Mercer Cemetery, Chadbourn.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
She was born on December 24, 1933 to the late Emma Jane Cribb Clewis and Neil Clewis; and the widow of ¬Thomas Sherwood Hobbs and Glencie “Tuncie” Earl Turbeville.
She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jamie Kennedy and Jennifer Hobbs; a great-grandchild, Tommy Scott Kennedy; four siblings, S.W. Clewis, Adalee Williamson, Edward “W.E.” Clewis and Ken Clewis.
To cherish her memory she leaves five children, Gail H. Kennedy and her husband, Tommy, Tommy S. Hobbs and his wife, Marcia, Mickey Delane Hobbs and his wife, Peggy, Chris Lynn Hobbs all of Chadbourn and Lora Ann Hobbs of the home; four stepsons, Glenn Turbeville and his wife, Donna, Donald Turbeville and his wife, Wendy, Edwin Turbeville and Mark Turbeville and his wife, Dixie; two siblings, Myrtle C. Cartrette of Chadbourn and Archie Neil Clewis of Greensboro; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
