Harold D. Register

Harold Dean Register age 79 of Whiteville passed on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. Final rites will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Sides officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Church Cemetery, Whiteville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. He was the son of the late Mary Gertrude Edwards Register and Ralph Carlton Register. He was also preceded in death by step-daughter, Gayle McPherson Bell. He was a member of Old Dock Methodist Church and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Harold Dean was employed in sales by Southeast Farm Equipment Company (V&M) in Whiteville for 37 years and later at Vause Equipment Company in Fayetteville for 4 years until his retirement. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Ruby Lee Prince Register of the home; a step-son, James Gregg McPherson of Whiteville; a sister, Dinah R. Reaves (Wayne) of Whiteville; niece, Melissa Priest (Charlie) of Whiteville; two nephews, Wesley Reaves (Megan) of Ocean Isle Beach and Clay Reaves of Whiteville; a step-granddaughter; and two step-great-granddaughters. Memorials may be made to the Nakina Middle School, "Mustang Club", 9822 Seven Creeks Hwy., Nakina, NC 28455 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
