George Waitus Todd

George Waitus Todd, age 73 of Whiteville, slipped into eternity Monday evening, April 1, 2019, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Born in 1946, he was the son of the late Mack Duffie Todd and Nellie Louise Hooks Todd. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, M.D. Todd, Bobby Lee Todd and Brenda Ann Todd. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Earlie Mae Locklear Todd of the home; children, Kenneth Ray Todd and his wife, Nikki of Hallsboro and Rena Thompson and her husband, Hillery of Clarendon; brothers, Billy Todd and his wife, Connie of Whiteville, Morris Todd and his wife, Cheryl of Whiteville, Johnny Todd and his wife, Carla Joe of Hallsboro and Ronnie Todd and his wife, Maria of Hallsboro; sisters, Helen T. McLamb of Whiteville, Maxine T. McLamb of Whiteville, Linda Faye Miller and her husband, Johnny of Whiteville, Nellie T. Imm of Hallsboro, Doris T. Jefferies and her husband, Keith of Hallsboro and Wanda T. Williamson and her husband, Freddie of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Gabrielle Bowers, Danielle Bowers, Savannah Todd and one great-grandchild, Shayden Phillips. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jerry Dalton officiating. Committal services will follow in the Cherokee Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 on Wednesday evening (April 3, 2019).
