Geneva Moore Young

Annie Geneva Moore Young, age 92 of Council, peacefully slipped into Heaven early Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Southeastern Hospice Care in Lumberton. A native of Bladen County, Mrs. Young was born on March 8, 1927 to the late Andrew McClain Moore and Rosie Shaw Moore. Along with her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Young; son, Andrew Henry Young; a grandson, Timothy Jacobs; and three siblings, William Moore, Walter Moore and Clara Lilly Funeral Services celebrating Genevas life, will be conducted on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., in the St. James Missionary Baptist Church Sanctuary, with Pastor Graylen Mitchell, Pastor Curt Locklear, Pator Michael Jacobs and Pastor Napoleon Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 prior to the service on Sunday. Mrs. Young was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. Geneva was also a faithful member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in various roles. Mrs. Young leaves behind her beloved children, Carolyn Young (Alton) of Council, James Young of Council, Rodgers C. Young of Council, Wanda Y. Mitchell (Earlon) of Council, Mazie Y. Jacobs (Vester) of Lake Waccamaw, Janet Y. Graham of Whiteville, John V. Young (Sheryl) of Council; siblings, Martha M. Sebrell of Wilmington, Milton "Buster" Moore of Lake Waccamaw, Ronald Moore "Gas Man" of Lake Waccamaw, Carthell "Porkey" Moore of Lake Waccamaw, Charles Moore of Lake Waccamaw, Elizabeth "Liz" Moore of Leland; 19 Grandchildren; 27 Great-Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Worthington Funeral Home is serving the Young Family.
