Elizabeth Carol Simmons Ward, age 63 of Whiteville passed on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. She was the daughter of Vera Mae Piver Simmons and the late, James Omega Simmons. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children, Andy Wayne Ward of Concord, Kent Ward of Nakina and Courtney Mae Ward; siblings, Tina Maria King of Ash, Reverend James Tommy Simmons of Chadbourn and Rodney Dean Simmons of Clarendon; and several grandchildren.
