Edna Williamson Obituary

Edna Louvenia Williams Williamson, age 86 of Elm Street in Chadbourn, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday evening, April 30, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. A native of Columbus County, she was born on August 10, 1932 to the late Jesse Cephus Williams and Smithie Cartrette Williams. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Albert Bartley "A.B." Hammonds and two of her siblings, Agnes Williams Clewis and Robert Lee Williams. A Funeral Service commemorating Louvenias life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Dr. David Vess, Rev. David Crumpler, and Rev. Hubert McClenney officiating. Interment will follow in the Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Thursday evening at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Mrs. Williamson leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Edward Morris "Pug" Williamson of the home; children, Brenda H. Ward (Criss) of Hendersonville, Janet Gail Greene (Perry) of Monroe, Mark A. Hammonds (Mary) of West Jefferson, Kathy H. Hughes (Philip) of Rocky Point; siblings, Elneta W. Strickland (Grady) of Cerro Gordo, JC Williams of Clarendon, Faye W. Bryant of Whiteville; Nine Grandchildren, Nina Curry (Jeff), Matthew Ward, Kendel Cichocki, Courtney Clifton (Justin), Brenna McLain (Justin), Sarah Hammonds, Madison Hughes, Resa Greene and Mary Hannah Hughes; and Nine Great-Grandchildren, Alex, Alissa, Austin, Klaire, Spencer, Grayson, Ethan, Aaron and Benjamin. Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice- 206 Warrior Trail Whiteville, NC or Chadbourn Baptist Church- 504 Howard St. Chadbourn, NC.
