Dorothy Benton Obituary

Dorothy Lee Edwards Benton, age 92 of Whiteville passed on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Shoreland Healthcare and Retirement in Whiteville. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moore officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home. She was the daughter of the late Gladys Bly Mercer Edwards and Arthur Leon Edwards. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Elizabeth Edwards Bennett, Marguerite Edwards Blackwell and Harold Teen Edwards. She is survived by a son, Charles Andrew "Andy" Benton of the home; two grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
