Doris Strickland Obituary

Doris Elaine Long Strickland, age 68 of Cerro Gordo passed on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center in Whiteville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Tim Moore officiating. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn Inez Nobles Long and Nolan Flower Long and the widow of Heck Strickland. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Christy Connor; and a sister, Evelyn Ward. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Canady of Cerro Gordo; a brother, Nathan Long of Chadbourn; sisters, Brenda Hilbourn of Cerro Gordo, Debbie Etheridge of Whiteville and Velma Spriull of the Edenton; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
