David Milton Boswell, Sr. age 84 of Whiteville passed on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whiteville. Final rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Chip Hannah officiating. Interment will follow in the Stanley Cemetery in Clarendon. The family will receive friends 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. He was the son of the late David and Grace Ward Boswell. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Boswell and a step-son, Jackie Ronald Jernigan. He retired from International Paper Company in 1995 after 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Esta Mae Gore Boswell of the home; his son, David Boswell, Jr. (Deborah) of Whiteville; a step-son, Joseph Marvin Jernigan of Whiteville; two sisters, Alice B. Long of Ash and Martha B. Strickland of Whiteville; a brother, Thomas "Tom" Boswell of Whiteville; grandson, Adam Boswell (Renee); 4 step-grandchildren, Brandon Jernigan, Brookie Jernigan, Jamie Jernigan and Tina Jernigan;5 step- great-grandchildren, Joseph Jernigan, Charlotte Jernigan, Kaydence Jacobs, Kendal Jacobs and Gralyn Jernigan..
