Charles Atkins Obituary

Charles Howell Atkins, age 85 of Whiteville passed on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Shoreland Healthcare and Retirement Center in Whiteville. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Chaplin David Kelly officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family. He was the son of the late Rita Patterson Atkins and Elbert Atkins and was preceded in death by four siblings, E.B. Atkins, Wayne Atkins, Maxine Tucker and Dewey Atkins. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Little Atkins of the home; two daughters, Amanda Tefner and Deborah Rice; a brother, Lewis Atkins; four grandchildren. Wendy Hodge, Christy Hodge, Dustin McClure and Daniel McClure.
