Carolyn White Obituary

Carolyn Jane White, age 72 of Tabor City, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville. Born in Wilmington on February 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William Oscar White, Jr. and Lyda Jeanette Hester White and the widow of William "Bruce" Garrell. Also, preceding Ms. White in death was her siblings, William "Bill" White III, Weldon "Reggie" White, and George H. White. A private memorial service will be held by the family. Ms. White began playing the piano in church at a young age. In her later years, she enjoyed preserving fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Among all her many talents, Ms. White was an exceptional cook, a great photographer, amazing seamstress and enjoyed her crocheting. Survivors include one beloved daughter, Denise Little Hewett of Tabor City; granddaughter, Heather Garrell and husband, Brandon of Beaverdam; great-grandchildren, Riley B. Garrell, Brissa L. Garrell, Brenna E. Garrell; siblings, Linda White of Butters, Donna Nobles of Orrum, and Sandra White of Fairmont. Worthington Funeral Home is serving the family.
