Barbara Long Obituary

Barbara Allen McKeel Long, age 83 of Whiteville, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whiteville. She was born on July 20, 1935 in Martin County; She was the daughter of the late Dovie Elizabeth McKeel and Virgil Mayo McKeel. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Estelle M. Powell, Naomi M. Hernandez, Dorothy M. Robinson and Dallas Clifton McKeel. She was manager of the Off-Price Outlet in Whiteville for many years. To cherish her precious memory, she leaves her beloved husband, Coy Long, Sr., two sons; Reverend Coy Long, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Whiteville and Warren S. Long and wife, Kari of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a daughter, Elizabeth G. Long of Denver, CO; a sister, Ann M. Wood (Walter) of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, Coy Long, III, Kristen Long, Breyanna Geiser, Brittany OBrien, Katarina Long and Jessica Reid; two great-grandchildren, Aedin Doorn and Emily Geiser. Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home with Reverend Ryan Clore and Reverend Coy Long, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Worthington Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Whiteville First Baptist Church, 412 N. Madison Street, Whiteville, NC 28472
