Alene McPherson Cribb

Alene McPherson Cribb, age 88 of Whiteville, entered into rest early Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville.

A native of the Beaverdam Community, Mrs. Cribb was born on August 8, 1930 to the late Coley McPherson and Vannie Cartrette McPherson and the widow of Joseph Lee Cribb. She was also preceded in death by six siblings, J.C. McPherson, Rossie McPherson, Eunice Hinson, Melton McPherson, Heschel McPherson and Mildred McPherson.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist church with Pastor Buddy Seay and Reverend Buster Benton. Interment will follow in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.

Alene began playing the piano at the age of eight years old and served as the pianist for over 50 years at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church, of which she was a faithful member.

Mrs. Cribb leaves behind her beloved children, Joseph Jerome Cribb of Fredericksburg, VA and Jerry Wayne Cribb and his wife, Margie, of Whiteville; a brother, Bobby McPherson and his wife, Brenda, of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Bronson Cribb, Pastor Charles Cribb, Rhonda McMillian, Matthew Cribb, Adam Cribb and Patty Cribb; great-grandchildren, Seth Cribb, Aireeyon Gause, Amaziah Gause, Uzziah Gause, and Dr. Tristyn Cartrette.

Memorial may be made to Beaverdam Original Freewill Baptist Church, 2665 Beaverdam Road, Chadbourn, NC 284531
