Judy Carol (Simmons) Phillips

Judy Carol Simmons Phillips, 76, of Evergreen, passed away on during the morning hours of Monday, March 25, 2024, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

Judy was born on February 8, 1948, in Columbus County, to the late Asberry Clyde Simmons and Mary Margaret Britt Simmons. She was also preceded by an infant daughter, Michelle Carol Phillips and sister, Nancy Simmons Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplain Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Boardman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel.

Judy was a dispatcher for the Columbus County Sheriff Office. 

Surviving family includes her husband Earl Johnson “EJ” Phillips of the home; daughter Angie Phillips Willoughby (Tripp) of Evergreen; brothers Buddy Simmons (Judy) of Evergreen and Glenn Simmons (Debra) of Bladenboro; grandson, Colin Phillip Willoughby; and special friends, Gregg and Shannon Sellers.
